Open Weekends, 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Official opening, Dec. 6 at the Hot Shops Winter Open House
First Fire Gallery is Hot Shops’ new student-led retail and gallery space, located at 1312 Izard Street. Operated by college art students, the gallery showcases a curated mix of ceramics, prints, paintings, small works, and select pieces created by students and Hot Shops resident artists. The space offers visitors a fresh look at emerging talent while strengthening the creative energy that defines the Hot Shops campus.
This initiative is more than a storefront—it’s a pathway. First Fire Gallery gives students hands-on experience running a creative business. It also builds important connections between students and working artists, helping emerging creatives develop the skills and confidence needed to build sustainable artistic careers here in Omaha.
By activating a storefront along Izard Street, the gallery contributes to a more vibrant arts district and gives the community new ways to support local makers. The concept is part of Hot Shops’ broader mission to cultivate the next generation of artists and strengthen Omaha’s creative workforce.
