On-Going Classes & Workshops
Classes in iron working, drawing, painting, glass blowing, glass bead making and many others are also available at the Hot Shops Art Center by many of its artists. Valerie Batt Stained Glass Private classes where you will make a stained glass leaded or copper foill window. Each two hour class costs $25 and includes use of tools. Glass and lead cost are not included but can be purchased at my studio or at a retail store. On average, it will take 6-8 weeks depending on the complexity of design. (402) 708-9696 202

Come Create It!
Our “Come Create It” workshop experiences allow you two or more hours with a skilled, professional artist. From African Drumming to Painting to Jewelry Making to Sock Monsters – our “Come Create It” workshops are great for anyone needing a pathway to their creativity! All workshops are held at Hot Shops Art Center, 1301 Nicholas St., Omaha, NE, unless otherwise noted on the OCI website.

Sign Up for Life Drawing
Life Drawing Sessions are currently being held in Studio 208 at the HotShops Art Center, evenings from 6 to 8:30 pm. Artists from beginner to professional are welcome. Our models are professionally trained. The studio is large and well-lit. Easels, tables, and chairs are provided for use. Refreshments available.

On both Tuesday and Wednesday evening, the model holds six 2-minute warm-up poses, two varied 25-minute poses, followed by one 50-minute pose. Emphasis is on pencil drawing, charcoal, and pastels. The cost is $65.00 for 8 consecutive weeks, one evening per week. Unregistered drop-ins are welcome at $12 per evening ($10 for students & retired). An Annual Life Drawing Exhibition will be held at one of the Hot Shops Galleries complete with a formal opening with refreshments. All participants of Studio 208’s Life Drawing Sessions will be invited to show at least one framed drawing.

Art: Mark-It is a hands-on art activity for many occasions. The classes are offered at the Hot Shops Art Center, 1301 Nicholas Street, in the heart of the new Market North Development.
