DIAN ROBLIN/ARTISAN
I have worked and lived throughout most regions of the U.S., including Hawaii. I received a BFA in painting and pottery and an MA in education. I lived in Spain and received a Cultural Degree from the University of Madrid and worked at the Prado Museum. Art has always been a part of my life. In the 60’s, I began sewing flowers on my husband’s jeans or making “decorative peace symbols” ON EVERYTHING. I then began designing my own clothes and jewelry and found great satisfaction in doing so...That was the beginning of my love for jewelry and fiber.

With my degrees in art and special education, I worked throughout the U.S. as an art therapist, special education teacher and special ed. director. I have always loved teaching and have learned so much in working with such a diverse population. It was a joy to incorporate my art with children and nurture their creative spirit, while they discovered their artistic voice. Following all of my adventures, I visited my son and his family here in Omaha last Christmas and was introduced to“Hot Shops” by my daughter-in-law. That was all I needed to relocate from Chico, California. AN ENTIRE BUILDING OF ARTIST! Who could ask for anything more, family, friends and a wonderful community of artists.

I work with precious and semi-precious stones, in gold and silver. My pieces can be custom made with a color, stone and metal of your choice. My scarves are made with hand-dyed yarns in various textures with cashmere, silk, silk ribbons and beads.
