 The Hot Shops Art Center celebrates two open houses annually, held on the first weekend of May and December.
The next event is our Spring Open House, May 3rd-4th, 2008. Come smell the flowers. If you haven't come to north downtown for a spell, you really should do so this May!
One of our biggest events of the year, the open houses feature informative art demonstrations and live music--numerous artists have their studio doors open to the public. Live music, informative demos, cool art, dense location.

 The Hot Shops Art Center
Bruning Sculpture, Loken Forge, and Crystal Forge make up the very heart of the Hot Shops Art Center, with the nature of their work giving it its "hot" name. We also house over 80 studio artists, as well as four gallery spaces, in our building complex located in downtown Omaha, just north of the new Qwest Center Omaha.  Attention Liquid Artists
Gentlemen, start your brewing! It's that time of year again, and the Hot Shops Art Center is looking for a few good brews. We are holding a home brew competition on the first Saturday of July, so start to brewing your beer, wine, or cider and bring it on down the day before the event. Judging starts at 5 pm on Saturday, July 5th, 2008.

 Workshops & Art Classes
A wide range of workshops and art classes take place at the Hot Shops Art Center on a continuing basis, ranging from blacksmithing and glassblowing, to drawing and painting. Offered from groups to individuals these classes are a great way to flex the creative side of you brain.

 Life Drawing Sessions
Get your drawing chops in shape and sign-up for life drawing sessions at the Hot Shops in Studio 208. The sessions provide professional models in a large well-lit studio with easels, tables and chairs available. Each session is 8 weeks long, and meets three times a week (M, W, Th) for 2 1/2 hours. Each 8-week session is $65 (sessions begin when at least 10 people have registered), with unregistered drop-ins available at $12 per evening.
